Billing

If our price changes

A price rise does not reach you.

A price rise does not reach you. You keep the price you subscribed at, for as long as your subscription runs.

This is not a courtesy we might withdraw. It is how the billing system is constructed.

How it works

Every published price is immutable. When we change one, the old price is not edited — a new version of the whole price book is created alongside it, and the old version keeps existing.

Your subscription points at one specific version. So:

  • You are billed at the version you subscribed on.

  • Your billing page shows that price, not today's list price. If you signed up at $29 and the list price is now $39, your billing page says $29.

  • New customers get the new version. Your price and theirs coexist.

There is no expiry, no "grandfathered for 12 months", and no annual review that quietly moves you. As long as your subscription runs without interruption, the price is the price.

When you do move to a new price

Three ways, all of them things you chose:

You change plan. Moving up or down a traffic step, or between tiers, means subscribing to a different plan — and that plan is bought at today's price. If prices rose since you signed up, the new step is at the new price, not at the old one.

You switch between monthly and yearly. Same reason: a different plan.

You cancel and come back. A lapsed subscription that is restarted is a new subscription at the current price. Your old version does not wait for you.

The pattern is consistent: your price is attached to your subscription, so anything that replaces your subscription replaces your price.

What about a price cut

If we drop a price, existing subscribers are not moved down automatically — the same mechanism that protects you from a rise also means you keep the version you are on.

If we cut a price and you want the lower one, changing your plan gets you today's price. If you are on exactly the plan whose price dropped, email billing@truestat.io and we will move you.

Being told

If we change prices, existing subscribers are told what changed and what it means for them — which, per this page, is normally "nothing".

We would rather send an email that says "prices went up, yours did not" than have you find out from the pricing page and wonder.

Checking your own price

Your billing page shows what you actually pay, which is always the authoritative answer. If it ever disagrees with a Stripe invoice, the invoice is what was charged — tell us and we will fix the discrepancy.

The billing page is part of the screens still being built. Until it ships, your Stripe receipts are the record, and billing@truestat.io can confirm your version.
