The self-serve cancel flow is being built. Until it ships, email billing@truestat.io from the address on your account and it will be cancelled — no retention call, no form.
What cancelling does
Your subscription runs until the end of the period you have already paid for. Cancelling on day 3 of a month does not stop anything on day 3 — you keep collecting, your dashboard keeps working, and everything ends at the period boundary.
There is no partial refund for the unused part of a period.
You can un-cancel at any point before the period ends and nothing will have happened.
What happens when the period ends
Collection stops. Events arriving after that are not recorded, and they are not recoverable later.
Your data is not deleted at that moment. It is retained for a grace period so you can export it or come back. During the grace period you can sign in, read your dashboard, and export.
After the grace period, your data is deleted. That is permanent — no archive and no recovery.
If you want the exact length of the grace period for your account, or want it extended because you need more time to export, write to support@truestat.io. We would rather extend it than have you lose something.
Before you cancel: export
There is no way to get your data back afterwards. See Exporting your data for what is available.
What happens to your script
Nothing. The tag stays on your site and keeps trying. Once collection has stopped, the collector refuses the events and the script fails silently — no error on your page, no visitor-facing effect.
You can leave it in place. If you resubscribe, it starts working again with no change to your HTML, because your site keys do not change.
If you would rather remove it, take the tag out of your <head>.
What happens to your share links
They stop working when collection stops. Anyone holding a link sees that it is no longer available rather than a stale dashboard.
Coming back
Resubscribing is a new subscription at the current price, not a resumption of your old one. If prices rose while you were away, you pay today's price. See If our price changes.
If you come back within the grace period, your data is still there and picks up where it left off — with a gap for the time you were not collecting.
If you come back after it, your sites and their history are gone and you are starting fresh.
If your payment fails
Not the same as cancelling. A failed payment puts your subscription into a past-due state, and collection continues while it is retried and while you are asked to update your card.

If your trial ends without a plan
Collection stops when the 14 days are up. Your data is retained on the same grace period as a cancellation, so signing up for a plan in the following days picks up where you left off.
There is no free tier to fall back to.
Deleting instead of cancelling
Cancelling stops billing and leaves your data for the grace period. Deleting your account removes everything immediately. If you want it gone rather than expired, see Deleting your data.
